Provincial Exam
The provincial exam is designed to examine several very specific skills. As a grade 10 student you are expected to analyze, interpret and express those interpretations in a written (often expository essay) format. Below are links to the exam specifications and to several other sites that I have found to be useful in training students to write this exam. I will update these sites as the exam approaches.

Provincial Exam content
Anything that we address in class will be tested by the provincial exam. However, there are specific skills that the Provincial will test:
1. Your ability to read, comprehend and then interpret meaning from a reading that you have never seen before. 2. Your ability to recognize and use the various characters of literature to describe personalized thoughts about literature. 3. Your ability to structure and order your thoughts in writing. 4. Your ability to compare and contrast literary themes across different literary genres. 5. Your ability to write an academic persuasive essay. Content wise, you will have to know the literary terms that are listed below. However, it will not be enough for you to know these terms. You must know HOW TO APPLY THESE CONCEPTS in an effective written argument.
