Open the rhetorical_devices_2.pdf listed below. Take notes on the devices or print them off. Watch the speeches, pick out three rhetorical devices for each speech and explain how those rhetorical devices affect the delivery of the speech.

Humorous Speeches
Here is a practice exercise to get you working with delivering speeches. Have a look at the assignment and examples below to practice your skills before diving into the humorous speech essay.
Video Assignment: Watch the video and answer the following questions. 1. How does the presenter of the speech deliver his material? In other words, what do the speaker's the tone of voice, pace of his sentences and the movement of his body contribute to the performance? 2. How is the content of this person's speech affected by his delivery? Explain what features of his body language and tone of voice contribute to the meaning of the speech. 3. Write a pqe paragraph explaining which rhetorical device is the most important in this person speech. Be sure to explain how this rhetorical device develops the speaker's position.
